INTERNATIONAL CONGRESS ON THE BIOLOGY OF FISH

Dear Colleagues and Friends,

We look forward to welcoming you, very warmly, to the 14th International Congress on the Biology of Fish (ICBF) in Montpellier in the south of France. The biannual international ICBF meetings started in 1994 in Vancouver, Canada, and have established themselves as a premier event for the global community of researchers in the field of fish physiology.

As you probably know, the 14th ICBF was due to be held in 2020 but, due to Covid-19, it was postponed. We are now delighted to confirm that the 14th ICBF will be held from June 28th to July 1st, 2022.

The 14th ICBF in Montpellier will be a great opportunity for our international community to gather over four days, to share information about our most recent research developments. The 14th ICBF is organised by the Physiology Section of the American Fisheries Society, in collaboration with a Local Organising Committee of fish physiologists from the Centre of Marine Biodiversity Exploitation and Conservation (MARBEC).

After a plenary session with talks by leading international experts, the 14th ICBF has a full programme of five to six concurrent thematic sessions over the four days, organised by renowned researchers. These are on a broad range of topics that reflect current research in fish conservation physiology, environmental physiology, evolutionary physiology, use of fishes in biomedical research, etc.

The thematic sessions will comprise oral and poster presentations, selected by the session organisers from the submitted abstracts. A special emphasis is placed upon contributions by early career researchers. Please consult this website for information about submitting abstracts for the 14th ICBF, including if you already submitted one for the 2020 meeting that was postponed.

After great meetings in cities such as Vancouver, Barcelona, Calgary, Edinburgh, Manaus, Portland, San Francisco, the 14th ICBF will take place from June 28th to July 1st 2022 at the Corum Conference centre in Montpellier, France. The 14th ICBF will provide an opportunity to enjoy the company of our international colleagues, to exchange about our research in fish physiology, and to develop and strengthen collaborations.

We will be delighted finally to welcome you to Montpellier, in 2022!

David J. McKenzie
